How To Choose Tablecloth Size

The initial step in selecting a tablecloth involves measuring the table and deciding on the desired drop or overhang. The overhang refers to the fabric draping over the edge of the table.

To determine the total tablecloth measurements, add the dimensions of the table to twice the desired drop length.

For a casual look, an overhang of 6” to 10” on all sides is suitable.

For a dressier appearance, a 15” overhang on all sides is recommended.

For a dramatic and formal look, a floor-length tablecloth is appropriate.
